About Claire O' Sullivan

Claire O' Sullivan is a Wicklow artist born brought up in the countryside in Brittas Bay before moving to Wicklow Town. Growing up around animals and beside the sea has noticeably been an important influence on her work. After finishing school in Bray she soon moved on to an art portfolio course in Stillorgan College where she completed her Fetac level 5 and was accepted into the National College of Art and Design. She was awarded her BA in fine art in 2015.

Her style of work comes from strong surrealist influences and artists such as Rene Magritte, John Stezaker and Matthew Ritchie as well as a love of nature and of the unknown. It is infatuation in the mystery of the world and its unanswered questions that strives Claire to continue to make new types of imagery that explores these ideas.
